Based in Kelvinbridge — your Glasgow celebrant is two minutes from Òran Mór
This is the plain, factual version: I live in Kelvinbridge, right by the Victorian cast-iron bridge and the subway station it's named after, and I work from here as a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant. I'm not "covering" the West End from somewhere else in the city — this is where I make my coffee, do my paperwork, and walk out the door to most of my ceremonies.
Why it matters that I'm based exactly here
Practically, it means a few things for a couple booking me. There's no travel fee for a Glasgow wedding — Kelvinbridge is literally where that policy starts, since I'm not factoring in a drive across the city. It means we can meet for a coffee to talk through your ceremony rather than a video call. It means I know the West End venues from the inside, not from a site visit. And it means if you email me, you're not waiting on someone stuck in traffic — I'm usually a five-minute walk from wherever the question needs answering.
The neighbourhood, briefly
Kelvinbridge itself is small and walkable in a way few city neighbourhoods manage — students and folk who've lived here for decades share the same three streets, and there's a proper food hall near the subway now, which tells you the place is still changing even as it stays the same. Òran Mór, the converted church that's become one of Scotland's best-loved wedding venues, is about two minutes from my front door. The Botanic Gardens and the Kibble Palace are an easy walk the other way. I didn't choose this postcode for the weddings. The weddings just happen to be excellent here.
